Dodger Stadium
I'm still trying to get a good solid social base out here, but I've been good about getting myself involved in many things so it's only a matter of time. I have an awesome irish dance class, which is all adults which is awesome, and the church choir is pretty cool as well.
Went to the Dodgers-Cardinals game last night. What a horrible game to go to! The Cards had out the "JV squad." It was rather ugly. But, I went with friends Sarah, Whit and Summer and that was a lot of fun. Got to catch up with everyone which was nice and I still to see my boys play live. They are only in LA for one series so it's awesome that I got to go to one game.
Dodger Stadium is a very cool stadium. It's built into the hills so the views are quite nice. Plus, it's nice to see some of the old time stadiums. Only Dodger Stadium, Wrigley and Fenway have not succumb to "new ballpark" syndrome that has run rampant among most MLB stadiums.
Another weird thing is that the ballpark was super dead at the start of the game. Busch is always full of people by starting pitch, even if it's not 100% full it's usually at least 75%. LA fans tend to come in late and leave early. They're there by the 3rd inning and leave after the 7th. Just something that St. Louis Cardinals fans don't do. Guess that's why we're called the best fans in baseball. We're fans from the first pitch to the last.
We're in the midst of "June Gloom." When I wake up in the morning it's very overcast and often you can't even see the hills or mountains, which is spooky. Then by the afternoon it burns off and the sun comes out. I'll take it over hot, humid rainy days in StL any time, but it's still a little weird. Newsflash: the sun isn't always out in California. *shock*
All in all, things are well! I do miss everyone in St. Louis though. It's weird to feel so disconnected from my St. Louis life. But I guess that's part of living our dreams. We can't be in several places at once.
Oh, I almost forgot! Had a celeb sighting at Dodger Stadium. Jerry O'Connell was at the game, he came in through the gate I was standing by waiting for my friends. :)
Katie, I love you, but you used the word "awesome" way too many times there. Is that California getting to you? ;)
